GLENORCHY AMBULANCE STATION

Over the past year, from August 2023 to August 2024, we had the privilege of partnering with Hansen Yuncken on the construction of the new Glenorchy Ambulance Station—a critical infrastructure project aimed at enhancing emergency services throughout Tasmania.

This state-of-the-art, $12 million facility is set to significantly improve response times and provide better access to emergency care for the local community.

Site Preparation and Demolition:

We began by meticulously demolishing and removing existing structures, including footpaths, trees, bushes, and fencing, to prepare a clean and safe foundation for the new construction.

Excavation Works:

Conducted comprehensive excavation of the main driveway and carpark area, ensuring optimal access and traffic flow for emergency vehicles and staff.Executed precise excavation of cut formations, laying the groundwork for the building's structure.Excavated foundation strip footings, pad footings, and edge beams, providing a robust and stable base for the facility.Performed auger bored piers installation, reinforcing the foundations to support the building's long-term integrity and resilience.

Material Management and Logistics:

Efficiently removed and disposed of all excavated materials from the site, maintaining a clean and organized workspace throughout the project's duration.Coordinated the transport and delivery of essential materials to the site, ensuring that construction timelines were met without delay.

Carpark Construction:

Successfully supplied, installed, and line-marked the carpark, creating a functional and well-organized parking area to accommodate staff and visitors, and facilitate smooth operations.

Traffic Control:

Implemented comprehensive traffic control measures, ensuring the safety of both workers and the public while minimizing disruptions during construction activities.

Adaptive and Additional Works:

Throughout the project, we remained flexible and responsive by undertaking additional works as they arose, demonstrating our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of the project and ensuring its successful completion.

pembroke park bmx Facility

MKH Contracting proudly collaborated with Bike Tracks Australia and the Sorell City Council to deliver the new Pembroke Park BMX Facility. With a tight construction timeline due to the imminent demolition of the Berriedale track, our team sprang into action, beginning with site levelling and trucking in over 9,000 tonnes of materials.

Site Preparation

We quickly undertook site leveling to prepare for construction, ensuring a solid foundation for the new BMX track. Managed the logistics of trucking in over 9,000 tonnes of materials necessary for the track's construction.

Shelter Construction

Constructed a key shelter in December, providing essential infrastructure before heavy rain caused a temporary halt in work.

Track Surfacing

:In January 2024, we collaborated with Bike Tracks Australia to apply a custom-designed polymer surfacing, tailored specifically for professional BMX tracks. This advanced surfacing ensures the track remains safe and functional under all weather conditions.

Final Touches

Completed the project with the installation of perimeter fencing, ensuring safety and security around the facility.

Successfully delivered on time and within budget, the Pembroke Park BMX Facility is a state-of-the-art venue that meets professional standards. Installed bored piers and carried out slab preparation for the unit foundations.Prepped kerb pads and installed kerbing for well-defined and durable edges around the developments.

Utilities and Infrastructure

Excavated and backfilled plumbing and electrical trenches, ensuring that essential utilities were seamlessly integrated into the site. Removed and disposed of existing driveways, making way for new, improved infrastructure.

Material Management and Logistics

Supplied all necessary materials for the projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality.Efficiently removed and disposed of materials from the sites, keeping the work areas safe and organized.
